Brits think about holidays more than mortgages

British people spend more time thinking about their next holiday than considering a mortgage, according to new research.
A report, by fool.co.uk shows that 36 per cent of Brits spend at least ten hours thinking of their next holiday compared to 11 per cent which spend the same amount of time thinking about their mortgage.
David Kuo, head of personal finance at Fool.co.uk, said: "Who can blame people for wanting to spend more time planning their holiday than pouring over financial products? But while a good holiday will recharge your energy levels for a few weeks, healthy finances can boost your bank balance for a lifetime."
He added that by taking a bit more time to consider things such as mortgages, "you could save up to £3,000 in one year to pay for the dream vacation you''ve yearned for but never quite been able to afford".
Almost a quarter of people in the UK admit that they do not spend enough time exploring their options regarding their finance according to the research.
